Imagination plays a vital role in everyday affairs of our life.There is no department of life where it is not needed.There is no profession or calling where its effect is not seen.Without imagination ther would have been no ideals in our lives.The whole progress of the human race would not have been possible without imagining better things and making those imaginings a reality.

In the past there was a class of educationists who put emphasis on the cultivation of the reasoning faculty alone of the child.They considered the child a mere bundle of nerves and a piece of thinking machinery which had nothing to do with emotions and sentiments.They forgot the real education aimed at the harmonius development of all the facultiesof the child.And the faculty of imagination was as much important in life as the faculty of reason.They perhaps did not know that without a proper training of the child’s imagination,education was incomplete.  But now there is radical change in the outlook of educationists.They know the importance of imagination in appreciating History and Literature in interpreting the thoughts of others and in understanding arts and sciences. Imagination is that faculty of mind which enables us to draw a vivid picture of anything.By means of imagination we can build something new out of the material supplied by our mental images.

Truly speaking,the vivid imagination teaches us to be charitable in our opinion of others , sympathetic in our treatment of them , and thoughtful in our acts.
