Are the women truly free??

“Stay within the limits of the walls of your home”, “Do not talk to other men”, “Do as your husband says”, ‘Sati pratha’, ‘Burqa system’, etc..etc..etc…This was a lot. And the women, in earlier ages had to face it all. But now, we are in 21st Century . Now women have advanced. They are independent, they can take their own decisions, they wear western clothes. Women in today’s world move shoulder to shoulder with men, rather, two steps ahead of men in many fields.

But are the women truly free? Just look at the society around yourself. Do you think that the women are really independent?

Many people are still there who think that women are inferior to men and that they should not be given equal rights as men. For instance, Recently, an ugly incident took place in Bengaluru, when Shiv Sena activists attacked the women and threw the women out of the Pubs and Discos and did many disrespectful things against the women. They said that the women should not wear western clothes and should not go to Discos and Pubs.

Do you think that this is what is called complete independence? Is this ‘the equality between men and women’? Are men also thrown out of Discos and Pubs?

Equality between men and women doesn’t only mean that women are allowed to work in offices and wear western clothes. But, instead, they should be given equal rights in each and every field. They should be allowed to do whatever they want to do. They should be given equak freedom as men. They should be allowed to take any legal action, just like men.

Women are a very important pillar of the nation. If this pillar is weaker or smaller than the other pillars, then the whole nation will fall. If the women are’nt given equal rights as men are, India cannot become a superpower, of what it deems to be…
