Idiot Box- Transforming!!!

Now a days, the viewing of the “idiot box” is increasing at a tremendous rate and so is the variety of usage of this box to convey messages.

Starting from the “Saas-Bahu” centered daily soaps, the producers are now changing according to the 21st century audience, especially the youth. Now, leaving the “pallu” of the saas-bahu serials, they are targeting the  new and fresh audiences to earn the TRPs.

Reality Shows, chat shows, game shows, laughter programs are all now common as the producers from the “Mayapuri” have got to know the ultimate truth that the days are gone when the housewives were the only audiences, now is the time of the youth and the family.

Some of the initial hits include- The Great Indian Laughter Challenge, Indian Idol,Koffee With Karan etc.

Not only the TV Serials but also the ads(advertisements) are now being more advanced and youth centered. Example is the Jaago Re campaign by Tata Tea.
