Released at the death of the year 2001, Windows XP was the most successful experiment of the software giant Microsoft in the global software arena.

XP, the short for eXPerience, has been the most outrageous OS ever. It broke all the records immediately after its entry in the OS market. In 2006, it had a market share of 85% – a record. And in the year 2009, its market share is almost 70% – it got a bit defeated by its sister OSs like Windows Vista and Windows 7(RC) from the Microsoft Windows Family.

The heart beat of almost 70% of the  computer systems in the world , Windows XP is admired by everybody but envied by its competitors. It is not only used in the PCs but it also gives life to many mobiles and ATMs!

Even though it has retired from its service, Windows XP will remain a source of  inspiration for the OS developers.
