Breathing In Other Animals

We are aware that our earth is indited by various kinds of living organisms. These organisma live in different habitats and are adapted to those conditions. As a result , different organisms have developed different mechanisms for breathing . let us study about a few of them

AMOEBA

Amoeba is a single-celled organism which lives in fresh water . it takes in oxygen present in the water and gives dioxide through its plasma membrane by diffusion

EARTH WORM

Earthworms live in the moist soil . They breathe by simple diffusion through their skin . They do not have any special respiratory  organs as their skin is very thin , moist and permeable to gases

INSECTS

They do not have lungs and their blood is not capable of carrying oxygen. Insects have a system of tubes, called tracheae .

FISHES

Fishes breathe through gills present on the body .
